Growing up in organized religion, I was taught that my heart and desires were untrustworthy. My connection to my own ancestral roots became distorted—I was repeatedly told that numerous elements tied to my culture, especially Voodoo, was “demonic.” After leaving religion, I turned to therapy and Tarot (an unmatched combination, if you ask me). Through them, I began to understand myself—my desires, my wounds, and my core beliefs. That understanding allowed me to step fully into my identity and purpose, free from fear, guilt, and shame.
